Janet Sell, CDA, MA is the Dental Assisting Program Director and instructor at Ozarks Technical Community College. Before becoming an instructor in the Dental Programs, she practiced as clinical and business dental assistant in the setting of two group practices in Springfield, Missouri. In 1980, Janet received a certificate in dental assisting. Since, she has continued her educational career and holds an Associate of Applied Science degree from Ozarks Technical Community College, and a Bachelor and Master’s degree from Drury University, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Higher Education Leadership, and is currently enrolled at Lindenwood University completing a Doctorate Degree in Education. As a Certified Dental Assistant, Janet has served on many professional organization boards, including the Missouri Dental Assistants Association, Springfield Dental Assistants Society, and Missouri Dental Assisting Educators. Throughout the years, she has created, directed, and participated in numerous continuing education seminars for the dental team on local and state levels. Janet has been employed at Ozarks Technical Community College since 1999 and has enjoyed teaching in the dental assisting and hygiene programs. Since 2005, Janet has served as a curriculum consultant for the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and has worked with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at University Central Missouri as an instructor in the Career Technical Education Department.
